DIY Decluttering Day

My ‘DIY Decluttering Day’ self-directed plan is a scheduled, step-by-step framework that guides you through a whole day of decluttering so that you can get things done without experiencing overwhelm, frustration, or burnout.

The plan sets out an entire day of decluttering, plus breaks, that’s timed for you to carry out over an 8-hour period on any day you choose.

During this 8-hour session, you’ll get just under 5 hours of actual decluttering done. The other three hours include four short breaks, a longer one-hour break for a meal, and a few sit-down sessions where you’ll be thinking, writing, and planning.

The DIY Decluttering Day framework includes 5 audio recordings to listen to at specific times during your 8-hour decluttering session to motivate, guide, and encourage you. Each recording is meant to be played at a specific time during the day, and it’s designed to give you exactly what you need right then. Motivation, encouragement, probing questions, and permission to rest and relax – that’s what I’m there to offer you. I’ll be giving you renewed focus so that you can use the day to its fullest extent and get as much done as possible – without burning out or getting tired. It’ll be like I’m right there with you.

The plan also includes a printable PDF workbook that will help you set your goals for the day and keep track of what you’ve accomplished. This workbook has numbered worksheets to use in conjunction with the audio recordings, so that you can record your planning, your thoughts, your accomplishments, and your next steps.

It’s like having me there alongside you to keep you on schedule, cheer you on, ask the questions that will help you do the work, and remind you to take care of yourself!

If you’d love to set aside an 8-hour block of time for decluttering, but logistical or health constraints keep you from doing those 8 hours in a row, the plan also includes instructions about how to spread those 8 hours over a 2-day period instead, with longer breaks in between physical decluttering times. You can work at your own pace!
